Small Groups

At United Congregational Church we are committed to offer loving, supportive community and opportunities to grow in our faith.

Our small groups are one way we help foster meaningful friendships as well as spiritual growth. We have a variety of regular small groups as well as seasonal book studies, bible studies, poetry workshops, walking meditations, and support groups.

Men's Breakfast

Established in 2001! The men’s group meets every Saturday morning at Newcomb Farms Family Restaurant, 1139 Randolph Avenue, to support each other over coffee and a hearty breakfast.

Knitters

The knitters group is composed of dedicated crafters who enjoy knitting and crocheting. They have numerous projects to work on. Prayer shawls for members of the church who are in need of comfort due to illness or crisis and baby blankets for baptisms are the most common of their production. But other items such as scarves, hats and peace pal dolls are donated to charities.

While knitting together we thoroughly enjoy the fellowship. Knitters of all levels are welcome.

Mid-Life Men’s Meetup

The mid-life men’s group is a Men’s discussion group that meets in the Wildcat Den every other Tuesday evening. Our discussion topics focus on the typical challenges facing men during mid-life, such as balancing family, career, relationships, and elder care responsibilities. We typically go around the room and check in with each person. We provide a confidential place to listen, share, and seek advice from the group. We also occasionally plan social events. Midlife is more of a stage than an age, so please join us if these topics interest you.

Senior Book Group

This book discussion group meets every six weeks, usually on Thursday mornings at 10 o’clock in the Church parlor. The group selects its next book at the previous discussion meeting. We read both fiction and nonfiction. We take turns acting as the discussion leader.

We welcome any new members!

Baby/Toddler Play Group

About once per month, we host a play group for babies and toddlers about ages 4 and under and their caregivers. This is a great opportunity for parents of babies and toddlers to get to know each other and build supportive relationships as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenting.
